Sunday afternoon is usually the time that I set my weekly plan and check the progress on my big goal (i.e. finish my PhD).
Last week also marked the beginning of the #AcWriMo initiative and I had to put together a writing goal for November. This time period coincides with my own goal for finishing my first PhD draft and sending it to my supervisor.
Today, during my “setting goals” time I went one step further and made this planning process in a simple template form. Recently I have read the “Time management from inside Out” by Julie Morgenstern and it offers great tips for organizing!
In making this template I follow the example of the planning process by Tanya Golash-Boza – you can read it here.
Here I provide my “setting goal” template (pdf file) for facilitating anyone interested in setting her/his goals. You can download it here: Setting goals_templates.
Step 1: My annual goals. What exactly do I want to achieve the next year?
Step 2: How my goals are connected with other bigger goals of my life?
Step 3: What is my deadline for accomplishing my goals?
Step 4.1: What are my (Fall) semester plans for accomplishing my bigger goals?
Step 4.2: What are my (Spring) semester plans for accomplishing my bigger goals?
Step 5: What is my monthly plan for accomplishing my goals?
My “setting goal” template (pdf file) for facilitating anyone interested in setting her/his goal is this: Setting goals_templates
Let me know what do you think! 🙂
Happy planning everyone!
